We Are Thankful

Each year we host a Thanksgiving luncheon for the children in our foster care program. We do our best to invite siblings, biological parents, and other family members who are important to these children. For some, this gathering marks the first time siblings have been all together in years. It is a deeply meaningful day.

This year was no exception. We hired a professional photographer to capture both the joy of the celebration and family portraits that these children will treasure.

As always, our dedicated staff was on hand to help, joined by Board members and other friends of Red Mountain who served dinner, kept things running smoothly, and shared smiles with everyone.

New this year was the addition of children who are in the CYFD system but not currently in foster care placements. Throughout our state, some children need foster families, but there simply aren’t enough homes available. These children spend their nights in CYFD facilities with CYFD staff. When CYFD asked if we could open our luncheon to include these children, we were honored to welcome them.

Thanksgiving Meal

We held our Annual Thanksgiving Meal at our office. This is a time where the children can eat with their bio families. It is important that we keep these relationships strong as it is everyone's desire that children are reunited with their families once the situation is stable for them.

July 2023 Party

Our Annual July 4th party introduces First Responders to our children in a fun and non-threatening way. This year was no different. Our day of fun was hot, but everyone cooled down with the massive water-fight.All were treated to a lovely lunch of subs and All-American apple pie. A build-a-boat boat race course, and the ever popular water soakers, with the children ganging up on the Gladiator Football Team and New Mexico United Soccer Team, ensured that anyone in the way got a refreshing splash of water as well. A great day of fun for everyone. We appreciate the Rio Rancho Police, the Rio Rancho Fire Department and Rio Rancho Paramedics for always showing up. Many thanks to County...
